How to Take Screenshots on Chromebook

If your Chromebook doesn't have a Screenshot key, press Shift + Ctrl + Show (the latter looks like a rectangle next to two vertical lines).

If your external keyboard doesn't have a Show Windows key, press Ctrl + Shift + F5.

From the menu at the bottom of the screen, select Screenshot. Choose whether to take a full-screen screenshot, a partial screenshot, or a screenshot.

Google added a Screen Capture tool to the Quick Settings menu on Chromebooks. Open quick settings in the lower right corner of the screen. Select Screenshot. Double check that what you want to capture is on your screen. Choose whether to capture the entire screen, one window, or part of the screen. You can also record part or the entire screen. Click "Capture".

Where to Find Your Chromebook Screenshots

Screenshots are automatically copied to the clipboard and displayed in Tote. Open Tote from the Shelf to access screenshots. To change where screenshots are stored, press Shift + Ctrl + Show > Preferences > Select Folder and select your preferences. Future screenshots will be sent there.

You can edit your screenshot in our online image editor and save it in any format you need.
